Designing and developing the concepts/services for the Independent traveller has taken a lot of time and energy over the last several years, but Stuart has not been alone. He has been very fortunate to have friends and collogues that are just as enthusiastic about this venture, and prepared to provide their time and experience in order to make it happen.
Stuart Ravenscroft | Company founder, CEO
During the past 18 years of Stuart's career, his experience has spanned industries from High-tech to the Music and Tourism Industries. Like all New Zealander's travel is in the blood, and the tourism industry is perfectly suited to him. In Rudolf's Travel Experiences Oy, Stuart wishes to bring to Finland new techniques, and business models that have been successful in developing the Independent Traveller segments in other countries. There are many opportunities for tourism in Finland, now is the time to make Finland an exciting place for the Independent Traveller.
Maija Pykäläinen | Customer Relations Manager
Another essential member of the team is Stuart's partner Maija. Maija has many years of valuable experience not only from her profession as a teacher, but also an in-depth understanding of Social networking on the Web and Web design. Maija is closly involved with most parts of the business, bring her knowledge to the design and development of our Internet ventures, providing a link to Bachelor level students that are involved in our projects, and develop/run our guided services.
Karl-Johan Kähkönen | Board member
Karl-Johan "Kalle" Kähkönen brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge and experience in international finance and control, sales and general management . The last 15 years of that experience has come from the telecoms industry, working in a number of senior positions within the Mobile Phones division of Nokia. In addition to the telecoms industry, Kalle has also worked in banking, machinery industry, computer industry and in the personal paging business. Kalle's knowledge and experience is a real asset to the company and we greatly appreciate his board membership.
Mika Halttunen | Board member
Mika Halttunen has more than 15 years practical experience of successfully leading a medium sized international company. After completing his higher education studies in 1988, Mika moved on to spend more than 10 years as President and CEO of Halton Group, before becoming Chairman of the Board. In addition Mika is currently Chairman of the Board for several Finnish companies, including FCL Capital OY, Seawolf Studios OY, Indoorium OY, LVI-talotekniikkateolisuus r.y. and Teknologiasta Tuoteiksi-säätiö. We are very happy that Mika is joining us, bringing his business acumen and experience on to the board.
